This 8th post-graduate seminar is meant to consolidate the knowledge gained from the US faculty over the last 20 years. The seminar is divided into two parts. Microscopic review of unknown cases and study sets will be conducted in the Pathology department of BSMMU on the prior two days, December 26th and 27th under Prof. Kamal’s supervision.  The didactic presentations are compressed into two days as follows:

Prof. Zaman’s presentations will be actual malignant and interesting FNA cases reported within the past six months in his practice. The participants will learn how the thought process of a busy practicing cytopathologist goes through the algorhythms of coming to a precise diagnosis based on morphology alone; how the diagnosis should be worded, what is a precise microscopic description of this entity and pertinent comments at the bottom of the report to guide the clinician for further work-up when necessary.

Dr.Bhuiya and Dr.Hossain will present their topics in a lecture format with Powerpoint slides and microscopic pictures of each entity.

Prof. Kamal and Prof. Golam Mostafa will present the current status of Immunohistochemistry and FNA respectively in Bangladesh
